Knights, MR Foundation supports work of Sumner Special Housing

Bob Johnson, a Knight of Columbus in Council 10010 at St. John Vianney Church in Gallatin, has volunteered to help others his whole life, including with Habitat for Humanity. Having a brother with intellectual disabilities educated him about the needs of that population. So when the late Carlton Russell of Sumner Special Housing Inc. was looking for someone in the mid-1990s to help the non-profit agency build a home for people with intellectual disabilities, Johnson was the perfect fit.  [Read more…]

Sumner Special Housing Dedicates Fourth Home

Sumner Special Housing Inc. dedicated its fourth home serving people with developmental disabilities in Sumner County on July 27. Sumner Special Housing was created by Knights of Columbus councils at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Hendersonville and St. John Vianney Church in Gallatin. New Hope Construction Features Sumner Special Housing in Fall 2007 Newsletter

Sumner Special Housing, Inc.completed their third group home in June. “The last home that we built in June 2007 with New Hope Construction materials was our best build ever,” states board member, Jon Hoscheit.
